Hey guys! I'm on my way to the beach so I decided to share with you guys my top 5 products for summer.
1. Sunscreen - This is pretty much a given. Sunscreen is a top priority for most people in the summer. I'm 50% Irish but I do tan quite a bit so I use a SPF 15. The key is to find the amount of SPF that is right for you. You also want one that protects again UVA and UVB rays to protect against sin damage and wrinkles.
2. Chapstick - This is another given during the summertime and pretty much anytime of year. In the summer you want one with SPF because, believe me, burnt lips are not fun. Chapstick is important because obviously you don't want dry, cracked lips. My favorite is the Maybelline Baby Lips. They contain SPF 20 which is perfect for summer, they are super moisturizing, and they come in a fun array of colors and scents.
3. Tinted Moisturizer - As most of you know, a tinted moisturizer is like a foundation but with a lighter coverage. Many of them today have some sort of SPF. The one I'm using right now is the Sonia Kashuk Tinted Moisturizer in Linen. Overall, I really like this product. I gives me a light coverage and doesn't look cakey. On top of that it had an SPF 15.
4. Waterproof Concealer - For me, this is a very important step. I have been "blessed" with pretty dark under eye circles. I pretty much look dead without a good concealer. A waterproof one is extra important in the summer. My favorite at the moment is the Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer. It says waterproof right on the container and it definitely is! It is pretty expensive ($32) but to me, it definitely worth it and you really don't need to much to get a full coverage.
5. Waterproof Mascara - Even though this is number 5, this is definitely on the top of my list. My eyelashes aren't horrible but I really like the look of long, thick lashes. A waterproof one is important because in the summer, at least for me, I don't really have a set schedule. I could be hanging out or I could be going to the beach. For this reason, I prefer to always wear a good waterproof mascara. My personal favorite is the Covergirl Lashblast Volume. It makes my lashes long and volumized, doesn't feel flaky and stays all day.

DIY Eyeshadow Primer
I'm going to show you a very simple way to almost dupe high end eyeshadow primer like Urban Decay Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance. All you need is a few easy ingredients
1. Foundation
2. Concealer
3. Moisturizer
4. Container to keep the primer
1. Foundation
2. Concealer
3. Moisturizer
4. Container to keep the primer
Step 1: Take more or less a quarter size amount of foundation and place it in some sort of mixing bowl. I used this specific foundation because the squeeze tube makes it easier to get the correct amount of product.
Step 2: Take and equal amount of concealer as you did foundation. This step is very important for people who have dark veins or discoloration on the lids. The concealer will help cover all the imperfections. Mix it into the foundation.
Step 3: Take, again, an equal amount of moisturizer. This, of course, will help moisturize your eyelids. Remember to use a unscented moisturizer, especially if you have sensitive skin, because you don't want irritated eyelids. Mix it into your foundation and concealer.
Step 4: Move your primer into a container and enjoy!

Review: Nars Eyeshadow Duo - Kalahari
I purchased the NARS Kalahari eyeshadow duo about two week ago and so far I absolutely love it! The first shade is a bronzy-gold color which is very pretty for a allover lid color. The second color is a milk chocolate shade which is more of a crease color. For a lighter look, the first color could be used as a crease color. It really just depends on your personal style.
Used With Urban Decay Primer Potion |
Places to buy: Sephora, NARS
